Created from a selvaged U.S. WWII shelter tents. These Jackets are alive with history; this Black Bear Brand shirt/jacket is named the specialist. Any other WWII jacket is an inadequate garment.

Each jacket is a one of a kind… each jacket is carrying the wear and history of its use in WWII. You'll find markings on them telling a story! The one shown was from Ft. Bragg

Shelter-halves were designed to serve double duty as ponchos against the rain, or for the concealment of snipers. This simple canvas item was a critical item for our military.

The WWII Selvaged Shelter Canvas Cotton used for each jacket is one or a combination of:

  • WWII OD cotton

  • WWII light green cotton twill

  • WWII M1941 green HBT

  • WWII OD9 cotton sateen

  • WWII olive-drab OD7

- exact location where the shelter tent was used in WWII is unknown.

- the exact cotton and it’s U.S. factory is unknown; a number of U.S. factories produced a variety of cotton for our the U.S. military shelter tents.
